Childhood

"I come from a small village called Kuru, where I started earning my pocket money as a market vendor and by helping at my mother's lunch café."

Selling came naturally to 13-year-old Henna. If a customer showed interest in one box of strawberries, they often left with three boxes or even a five-kilogram crate. Long before my market-selling days, I already knew I wanted to work in sales. I sold handmade bookmarks and various crafts to the neighborhood children.

JYSK

"My favorite part of being a store manager was leading sales."

While studying business administration, I successfully completed my internship at JYSK, which led to a summer job, a permanent sales position, an assistant manager role, and eventually the opportunity to become a store manager in a newly opened store with an entirely new team.

I was only 20 years old when I started my first leadership role in the furniture retail industry. I gained valuable experience in recruitment, onboarding, and team development. What I enjoyed most was leading sales performance. Our store was recognized monthly for sales growth, customer feedback, seasonal execution, store appearance, and adherence to the company's concept standards. Our team was the youngest in the company, but we consistently achieved outstanding results. "Our team was the youngest, but the best."

"The customer later returned to buy a car together with a friend because they were so pleased with the service they had received."

One day, a job advertisement from a car dealership appeared on my screen. On a whim, I decided to apply. Applying wasn't intimidating for my naturally bold personality, but before my first day, doubts began to creep in: "This is a male-dominated industry. There aren't any other women working there. I'm not cut out for this. I don't know anything about cars. How can I sell something I know so little about? Customers won't take me seriously. My colleagues won't take me seriously. They'll probably think I'm the receptionist..." Despite these fears, I walked through the door with confidence—and that was the last time I worried about any of them

I approached my first days with an open mind and a willingness to learn. I made my first sales call, prepared a trade-in offer, and arranged a test drive. Later, the customer returned to purchase a vehicle and brought along a friend because they had been so impressed by the service. From that moment on, I ranked among the company's Top 3 salespeople every single month.

Once again, my attitude earned the respect of both customers and colleagues. One coworker later admitted that based on first impressions, he had assumed I wouldn't last more than a month. He had witnessed the stereotypes and prejudices customers often voiced aloud. He told me he was proud of how confidently I took control of the role and helped break barriers for other women entering the industry.

Hobbies & organizational involvement

”Intohimonani on ajaa etenkin nuorten yrittäjien asioita kotimaassamme.”

Alongside entrepreneurship, my life is enriched by various organizational roles, hobbies, and, most importantly, the people close to me. I serve on the Labour Market Committee of the Federation of Finnish Enterprises, where we act as the voice of entrepreneurs in labour market policy and support the organization's advocacy work regarding legislation and employment matters. I also lead activities for young entrepreneurs in the Pirkanmaa region.Through these roles, I have the opportunity to influence, network, and contribute to the development of Finnish entrepreneurship.

In addition, I am actively involved in the Tammerkoski Junior Chamber International chapterwhere I quickly took on responsibility during my candidate year by successfully leading the Chairman's Gala Project.I am also a member of the Tampere Chamber of Commerce , with whom we collaborate in media sales as well.

I regularly participate in events organized by various associations and networks—sometimes as a representative, sometimes as an organizer, but always with enthusiasm. These occasions often combine business, networking, leisure, and fun.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, discovering great food, listening to music, and staying active. I recharge by jogging through the beautiful landscapes of Tampere, playing padel, going to the gym, or even taking a dip in an ice hole during winter. Music has been a part of my life since childhood. I've played the flute for as long as I can remember and still perform occasionally. I also love traveling, but above all, I value the time spent with close friends and family.
