In terms of other colourless cards, I like Duplicant as a potentially free removal spell, Wurmcoil Engine for the value, Myr Battlesphere for early damage output and Steel Hellkite as a flying threat that can wipe out huge chunks of the board
Hardy of Myra's Marvels really reads as a vanilla creature lord of sorts since the cards with three lines of flavor text become really efficient creatures such as Memnite, Savannah Lions, and Quilled Slagwurm
FINAL FANTASY XIII I think the one thing I did in the set that consistently raised more eyebrows than any other aspect was doing a single meld pair: Fang and Vanille
