On one side of the spectrum, you have newer games like Disney Lorcana, where sometimes there just arent enough cards being manufactured to meet demand

No muss, no fuss just an all-around great aggro tool

The reason for the jump seems to be Premodern, where some builds of Survival of the Fittest play the two-drop as repeatable removal that can be tutored up when the time is right

You get a repeatable loot engine, and you get devotion to blue, and a way to trigger casting non-creature spells

This is a scary keyword on its own, and doubly so when you get an extra attack with the creature in question
