To cast this split card, choose one of its thirds to cast
If you sink enough mana into its X cost, your opponents will either die or have no resources left to defend themselves, both on the battlefield and in their hand
Some of the newer rules might speed up the game, but largely it has remained well balanced and is recognize-able, at least for newcomers, compared to where it was at ten years ago
Interestingly, the two signpost gold uncommons curve into each other perfectly: by turn four, you can have six lands in play and six power on the battlefield, putting you well ahead of your opponent
Generally, Ill recommend Cadaverous Knight, Diregraf Colossus, Nantuko Husk, Phyrexian Ghoul, and Rotlung Reanimator as my five favorites from that list
It's a fantastic card to build a deck around, albeit it would need to be Mono-White if used in Commander, but a recent sale of this card has catapulted it into being among the most valuable numbered cards in MTG right now
