In general, EDH players overrate board wipes, and their value can really depend on local metas, but putting yourself behind often isnt worth it
They need immediate value to be useful, and must be protected to have long-term impact
Theyre all still very valuable inclusions for this deck, and I prefer any of them to an effect like Bag of Holding since they actually allow discarded cards to hit your graveyard, which ends up being pretty important
With a cost of only one ink and the ability to challenge with two bonus strength, Captain Hook: Forceful Duelist is easy to deploy early in a game and can create a quick, aggressive front
Being able to cast a 3- or 4-drop for free after playing this card is stronger than cascade, and we know how powerful that mechanic is
It's important that players get excited by the mythic rares, and players tend to get less excited by cards they don't understand
