Deveney says they wanted to stick close to what fans would expect from its pixel art sprites and limited concept art while also expanding upon them, and hopes that the character designs should feel like how you remember them, despite being a hybridization of many different references and new ideas. To help accomplish that, WOTC even consulted directly with the Final Fantasy 6 team as they updated these character to the standards needed for Magic art
These gorillas actually have some form of civilization
So we have Autumn Willow as the mommy, Joven's Ferrets and Rysorian Badger for some solid bodies, and other old-school creatures from that era (Orim, Samite Healer for example)
Now, this card is more niche than other modal spells, but itll be a slam dunk for token decks, and maybe decks that care about +1/+1 counters
While there are a ton of different treatments for the Eldrazi Titans in Modern Horizons 3, the concept artwork used for the serialized variants isnt uniquely available in serialized variants
