Putting things like spaceships and laser beams in a main, Standard-legal set works when done sparingly, and the same goes for bringing in real-world franchises

Not enough staples

The artifact decks were often the best at this, because they brought out their mana so fast that they could shrug off losing two lands while they crippled their opponent's development, and decks with green mana creatures like Birds of Paradise often used the same plan

The only setback being that eventually we will need our mana for the more expensive squirrel producers

Crawlspace is also handy, limiting the number of creatures that can attack you each turn to just two
