Epic cards have special card frames, textures, and foil to set them apart from standard cards
As with Magic, an ongoing plot takes center-stage to keep dedicated players invested as well (it was apparently the first major work done on Lorcana, with Miller pointing out that the team "wanted to make sure that it didn't feel like we were just putting characters on cards")
