So you can't play a basic Swamp or Godless Shrine in Mono White, because they contain black mana symbols and therefore have black in their color identity
Patrol Hound, Peace of Mind, Tireless Tribe, and Resilient Wanderer are all better cards to play if your sole purpose is to try to discard cards from your hand in white

Venser, Corpse Puppet This card might be cut from decks because of too many better cards (even just within Phyrexia ), but its fairly powerful in a vacuum
That means you get one burst to make your other creatures ready to attack, plus a +1/+1 counter for your Engineer, and thats it for that mode
Hermetic Study/Psionic Gift ( Saga/Legacy/Destiny & Odyssey/Torment/Judgment ) In both sets, these cards served a similar purpose: kill small creatures or allow your smaller creatures to threaten large ones in combat (for instance, Hermetic Study would allow your 2/2 creature to attack into a 3/3 creature with the threat of your third Hermetic Studied creature sweeping away the 3/3 should it block)
