He starts off weak, just a 2/2 with trample, but gains +1/+1 for each noncreature token you control
I know understand a little more why this card is so expensive in Japanese

This deck also takes advantage of Up the Beanstalk, drawing cards both when you cast either of the Overlords and when you cast removal spells, like Rides End, Leyline Binding, or Sunfall
