There are a few decks that actual turn this rule into an exploitable advantage, using it as a free discard outlet to pitch giant creature cards to Reanimate next turn or a Dredge card such as Golgari Grave-Troll for subsequent self-milling, but in what I would call fair decks, this maximum hand size rule is not nice, especially when you are mana-screwed

In both scenarios, by attacking too early, the leaders would have drained our resources, and then destroyed us in the span of 1-3 turns
If you have a Poisoned Pokemon or one thats nearly Knocked Out from its damage, this is a great way to reset it and then get it back into play unscathed
