I think it's far more accurate to say that Magic is a litmus test for poker

For example, decks featuring Lurrus of the Dream-Den as a companion account for 35% of the metagame and have a low curve by definition
So you not only have to either cast, or hope for an opponent to cast, multiple spells in the turn, you also have to have five mana available to cast Spellslinger, plus whatever it costs to cast another spell, which is hopefully a really good one
