If thats the case, control decks may have interest in a card that goes directly after Izzet Phoenixs primary way of generating advantage: its card-drawing spells
The cost would be the combined cost of both halves, they would be put on the stack as a single spell and would resolve starting with the left half (which usually made the right half work better anyways)
I must say I loved seeing the reprinted Mickey Mouse, Detective among them as I have been playing this card a lot in my decks and it is nice to see it back

Try to keep a few cheap defenders in your hand for after you play your commander and be sure not to throw them all out too early
Problems with card warping are not isolated to double-faced cards as evidenced by this tweet from MTG Goldfishs Seth (better known as Saffron Olive): I figured people were blowing the card warping issue out of proportion, but some of my Ixalan cards haven't aged very well
