If the original creature had a characteristic-defining ability that determined its power and/or toughness, that ability is not copied

The key difference here is that Banner of Kinship only enters with counters if you already have the creatures in play, so its more akin to an Overrun

It also has great potential as a commander, seeing as you can build a deck to untap it, blink it, sacrifice it, and do it again when you recast this card from the command zone

This works against a spell that can't be countered
