I played both decks against the sets designers and managed to beat them both, a monumental feat for any Magic player
Here let me show you the wonky things we had before, in case you forgot: The first Rakdos the Defiler is here with a big body but it forces you to sacrifice half of your stuff when it arrives
You should also know that by increasing Esper Sentinels power, it becomes harder for your opponent to pay the mana tax, making it more likely that theyll let you draw cards
Hieroglyphic Illumination is directly fighting with Glimmer of Genius in the four-mana card draw slot, and although I didnt think there would be a better option than Glimmer throughout its Standard life, Illumination will have its place
The set also printed a standard version of the card at #54, but its this full-art treatment that became the one to own
We do have a couple more artifact creatures, the Brass Man and the Dancing Scimitar
