There are a number of ways the calculate or estimate this more specifically, but a quick rule of thumb is that basic mana should make up approximately one-third of their Magic: The Gathering deck, or 20 to 24 cards in a 60-card deck

Of course, there's more to value than just price (if there wasn't, nobody would buy the basic land Secret Lairs)
When the worst way you can play a card is still considered good value, youve got a definite winner on your hands
In the sideboard I can prepare to grind if I have to with Spirit Bonds and Purphoros, God of the Forge, or I can use Boros Charm against sweepers, or Act of Treason, Hammerhand, and Frontline Medic to punish attempts to block against me
