I actually really like the flexibility of a commander that can make an aggressive start and pivot to a slow, grindy game plan like this

The best use I have found for his is with Birthing Pod where you can easily engineer a flip on the turn you bring him into play,the same would work for Aether Vial as well I guess but it hasn't come up as yet
