The card provides a unique effect in Commander, especially for a land, and can keep a key creature alive in the face of a destruction based board sweeper or similar point removal

All be it generally a rather win more one as you also have a planeswalker in play

I've found Grasp of Fate to be really excellent at stopping opponents' key cards (simultaneously), although that sometimes unites them against you of course)

Then we can discard massive artifacts like Portal to Phyrexia, Triplicate Titan, and Phyrexian Triniform that we can cheat back into play
