In hindsight, the casting cost of putting the card in play is quite low at three mana

It enters the battlefield with three loyalty counters and immediately ticks up to four while grabbing a land from your graveyard and thus replacing itself

To make things even better, it included some crazy powerful cards for the time like Dragons Fire and Alladdin, Heroic Outlaw a card that was used in every Ruby deck back then (and is still strong in my opinion)
