It does have to attack, but with flying that is a safer prospect than not

You can use Counterspell or Spell Snare if there's a major threat on the stack, or you can spend your mana on Fatal Push or Sheoldred's Edict to deal with a resolved creature

Then add your support Pokemon the ones that search your deck, accelerate energy, or provide useful abilities

Using Enchantments that return to your hand anytime they go to the graveyard is a nice strategy too, as you can get back the Enchantments effect while also making sure you continue to have fuel for Ertais ability
