本来あるべき短頸が失われ、胴のみの残欠です。

わずか直径5センチのこぶりでかわいらしい古錫茶托です。

炉内はよく煤がついており、実際に使い込まれてきた雰囲気です。

本品のような焼締陶の源流は、古代中国の殷（いん）代にはじまる灰陶と呼ばれる硬質土器にまで遡ります。大きな穴窯の中で、高温で焼き締める技法は、三国時代の朝鮮半島を統一しようとしていた新羅（しらぎ）へと伝わりました。
